DIVX & WINDOWS MEDIA

We currently offer two VOD platforms with others to follow in phase 2 of our API, scheduled for Spring 2009. Both current platforms offer instantaneous content via Progressive Download or Standard Download.

DivX is a U.S. Nasdaq listed technology company that has pioneered Internet Film Delivery. They are respected by most major hardware manufacturers and accredited by both Sony Pictures and Warner. The DivX certified VOD platform is both PC & Ma c compatible.

How DivX VOD works.. users must first instal the Free DivX player and register an email address and password from the player, for their Free DivX account. Many PCs, such as Sony Vaios, may already have a pre-installed player. Users then pay for their chosen Film and a licence to authorize playback is issued to their DivX account. They are then able to watch the Film which is progressively downloaded to the Download Manager within the player. Being a Device-led platform, users can transfer content to a range of certified hardware players that must first be registered to their DivX account... DVD players, mobile phones, wireless routers. users can burn a downloaded Film straight from their player and playback the content on a DivX certified DVD player! (Even the latest firmware upgrade for the Sony PS3 includes official DivX device certification.)

Windows Media Video, WMV, is the most deployed media format for Internet VOD and when combined with Microsoft DRM, offers the most commonly deployed legitimate content on the Web. SILVERLIGHT is the new Microsoft multi-browser plugin that combines with the PLAY READY platform, setting new standards in digital content delivery.

How Windows Media VOD works... users pay for their chosen Film and the DRM licence is delivered to their PC, with the Film, rather than to an account. They are given an option to watch instantaneously or Download for subsequent viewing. The media can be transferred, together with the licence, to any Microsoft DRM certified portable device or viewed wirelessley via a Netgear EVA series router, on a TV screen.

In a constantly evolving technological environement, both these platforms offer regular enhancements in usability which seamlessley integrate with our API .
